One reason for the drop in water in Lake Lanier is the fact that the Army Corps of Engineers is intentionally draining it! The Corps is obligated under the Endangered Species Act to send 37,400 gallons of water to Florida to protect two rare and endangered freshwater mussel species. They are putting human lives at risk to save a few mussels.
